Carlo Raymond Ingo was born in Chicago on 13 March 1913, the son of Joseph "Joe" Ingo and Angelina Lo Cascio Confirmed. He was named Carlo for his maternal grandfather, Carlo Lo Cascio — the Sicilian custom of naming a first son for the mother's father, and a key confirmation of the Ingo–Locascio marriage. His father was murdered when Carlo was barely a year old. Carlo lived his whole life in the Chicago area, worked as a labourer, married Grace Lango, and died on 15 August 1991, aged 78.
