Biographical Information

Rocco Perino was born in Simbario, in the Calabrian province of Catanzaro (Vibo Valentia since 1992), on 9 June 1884 Confirmed. He emigrated in 1903 through Philadelphia Confirmed and by 1910 was on the iron range at Ishpeming, Michigan Confirmed, before settling in Chicago, where he was naturalised in 1925 Confirmed. With his wife Giuseppina Andriacchi - also of Simbario - he had at least nine children. He worked as a labourer and, by the end of his life, lived at 10847 W 153rd St, Orland Park. He died a widower on 30 April 1971 Confirmed and was buried on 3 May 1971 at St Mary Catholic Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
