Mary Ann Jane Jolliffe, a sister of Edith, was christened at Bristol about 1887 (parents Samuel & Emma Joliffe). Earlier work placed her in the family's 1891 census household, and a FreeBMD civil-registration check (Session 69) found no death registration for her in the Bristol districts 1887–1905 — so, unlike her sister Priscilla (who did die in 1888), she appears to have survived childhood. Her adult fate is untraced, most likely under a married name.

A FreeBMD deaths search (surname Jolliffe, phonetic on to catch Joliffe; districts Bristol, Barton Regis & Bedminster; 1887–1905) returned no Mary Ann Jane / Mary Jolliffe at all. The same search DID return her sister Priscilla Morris Jolliffe (age 4, Jun 1888, Bristol, GRO 6a/17), proving the family's genuine child deaths are indexed there. So Mary Ann Jane was not a Bristol childhood death — contradicting the earlier "died young" assumption and, with her 1891-census presence, indicating she survived.
