Biographical Information

Emma Ann Woolley was born about 1848 at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire Confirmed, the daughter of James Woolley, a cabinet lock maker, and Caroline Woolley. She first married Charles Jones at Birmingham on 13 March 1864, and — widowed — went on to marry the widower Samuel Joliffe at St Andrew, Bordesley (Birmingham) on 24 November 1872 Confirmed. She was widowed again in 1891 when Samuel died. Of their children, Caroline Emma (1873), Frederick William (1885) and Edith (~1891) survived; Priscilla Maurice (1883–1888) and Mary Ann Jane (1887) died in childhood, and the family-chart 'John (1876)' — absent from every census — is probably spurious Confirmed.
