On 12 June 1915 Antonina was assassinated on the front steps of their home at 1104 Cambridge Avenue — the family's Black Hand killing, now confirmed Confirmed — leaving Carlo a widower. He long outlived her: the 1930 census finds him, aged 82, in the household of his daughter Rose and John Russo.

His Find a Grave / Mt Carmel cemetery record gives born 8 May 1849, died 5 January 1932, buried Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Hillside (headstone photograph on file) — resolving the open "died after 1930" and refining his birth from the census-estimated c.1848 to a specific date. 1910 US CENSUS — household NOT located (Session 69). Carlo & Antonina were in the US in 1910 (both alive until Antonina's 1915 murder), so their own household should list every child then at home. But eight orthogonal FamilySearch searches all failed: head Carlo; wife Antonina + spouse Carlo; father Carlo + mother Antonina; son Michele + mother Antonina; and surname wildcards Loca\*, Locas\*, Cascio~ for both Carlo (b.~1848) and Antonina (b.~1864). The only Loca\* hits were a younger "Charles Locascio" (b.1877) and an unrelated boarding-house "Locasio" — neither ours. This is the same severe name-mangling that hid the family's 1915 homicide record (indexed "Locassis"). Next step: get an exact street address from a dated record — Michael's 1917–18 WWI draft card or the 1920 census (Carlo as widower / Michael's household) — then browse the 1910 census enumeration district for that address; or re-run on Ancestry, whose different OCR/index may catch what FamilySearch's misses.Confirmed

The family lore that a Lo Cascio daughter "married an Ingo" is proven: Angelina Lo Cascio married Joseph "Joe" Ingo, and their son Carlo Raymond Ingo (b. 13 Mar 1913, d. 1991) was named for THIS Carlo — the maternal-grandfather naming custom. Carlo R Ingo's Cook County death record and SSA NUMIDENT name the parents as Joseph Ingo & Angelina Lacascio. Searched six independent ways for the household: head Carlo (Locascio, Cook 1900); wife Antonina (fuzzy surname); any child with father Carlo + mother Antonina; children of any "Antonina" in Cook born 1878–1895 (119 hits, none Lo Cascio / father Carlo); son Michele b.1888 Italy with mother Antonina; daughter Rosa b.~1880 Italy with mother Antonina. All negative. The family does not appear in the June 1900 enumeration under any recoverable name or parent combination. Most likely they immigrated after June 1900 — consistent with Rose's Feb 1901 Chicago marriage being the family's earliest US record. Matched by Antonina's parents (Angelo Lo Verde & Concetta Gallina) and the tree linking this Antonina (1864–1915) to her Chicago death records. This pins the family's comune at last — Chiusa Sclafani, Palermo — confirming the chart's "Palermo" and ending the central-Sicily / Camporeale doubts.
